Sin Separates. Jesus is the Bridge

We are made in the image of God and the whole earth was given to us. But in this present day and age we find ourselves in a reality where our world in not fully governed by the goodness of God. Instead, we find the ways of the devil slot into the gaps of our existence. A reality that is void of the God of Heaven, produced a world void of the things of heaven; we endure a world filled with suffering through death, deviance and poverty is our graven reality today. Although the Almighty created the heavens and the earth, the systems of the world (i.e. cultures, and societal norms, laws, etc…) are all under the sway of the evil one (1John 5:19). And the things that are often seen as ‘normal’ or are praised here on earth, oppose the perfect way of life that comes from God (Luke 16:15).

Have you ever heard the saying, “you are subject to whatever you obey (Romans 6:16)”?

It’s true! From addictive desires, to the voice of your own mother, the person or thing that you choose to obey is what determines what or who has authority over you.

In Genesis, sin was never about the apple. The apple was not poisoned. Instead it was about the will of the human heart and who’s word it will obey. The human hearrt was poisoned by the lies of the devil and it led to sin, leading to death, but the command of God leads to eternal life (John 12:50). Adam chose to obey the unfamiliar voice of the devil by harkening his ears to the lie his wife believed from the crooked ‘serpent’ (Genesis 3:8).

 Because Adam was obedient to the devil, the authority and dominion that was with them, was given over to the principality (created spiritual being), the devil. Sin created ancient chasm of seperation between us and deity.
