And They’re Gone!
By Esther Chinyere Iwuji
I had a dream…
. . .And they were gone with the wind!
Autumn leaves swept away.
The new beginning draws nigh,
It’s time for the old to decay.
Gone with the wind!
I looked out of my door.
How many missing?
One, two, three… no four,
Millions of people missing,
Gone without a trace.
Now millions forsaken.
The elect soon to see His face.
Yes, they have made it,
Through the world’s trials.
Now disappearing,
From schools, planes and even shopping isles.
At the sound of the trumpet,
Changed at the twinkling of an eye,
At eye-level with Jesus,
Hear the saint’s triumphant cry!
As they float into the sky,
Without even a chance to say goodbye.
But don’t look back!
Remember how Lot’s wife went awry.
It’s time to go,
Don’t be troubled.
It’s time to go,
Don’t get caught up in social media rubble.
Feet together now.
Don’t be tense.
He will evacuate you,
And take you beyond the humanity fence.
Beyond the earth’s peripheral view.
Take a breath,
Just be silent,
For the Great Maker is making,
All things new.
No longer will the old flesh fail you,
Instead, God will give vessels of light.
This time, of the tree of life,
His babes will take an abundant bite.
Understand that the Lord will come like thief in the night.
But oh, the things that’ll come upon the world!
Isn’t it such a fright?
For your accuser’s time,
Draws near as near time can be.
Lucifer’s punishment draws nigh,
For its hatred for God in human beings.
Come for our Lord Jesus said blessed are the poor,
“Yes! Blessed are you who hunger for eternal-life’s-more.
Blessed are you children who come unto Me”
Blessed are those who’ll sit at His table,
to eat from Eden’s eternal life tree.
