Image of Man
By Esther Iwuji
I Saw a Vision…
. . .And I saw a pale-faced man. He represents the sorrows, patience and endurance of mankind. Having gone through trials and tribulations, he looks back to remember what God has done for him on the cross through Jesus Christ. He looks forward to the promise of God that awaits him. Promises that springs forth from the cross, the anchor that holds him.
He is the Adam that left the garden; the new man that journeys back to Eden.
And in his eyes you will see the number IV and the number III. The number IV in his right eye, for it represents the forty years of trials in the desert Forty years of chastisement. Forty years of probation. It is the product of V and VIII, which signifies ‘grace’. A grace that can only end with revival.
In the other eye you will find you will find the number of suffering, death and resurrection; you will find the number III.
For it was on the third hour of the morning that the Son of God was nailed to the cross. On the third hour of the afternoon was He pronounced dead. Nonetheless, on the third day, He rose from the dead.
“For the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and He must be killed and on the third day be raised to life.”
-Luke 9:22
Here lies the image of patience, endurance and a yearnful hope written on the image of the man.
